Dances With Words

And on the sixth word they danced to a lilting melody, while the seventh brought them to a frenzied climax. The word fairies played amongst the pronouns and made partial interrogatives into third declensions. The judges coughed into their hankies and took no notice of their frolics. Letters reached the dance floor, falling thickly and forming a slippery surface.

Then the horn blew. The couples sallied forth onto the big letter "Q", queueing up for the set alphabetically.

"Quince," pronounced the judges, "Fifty-three points."
